MONACO OCEAN PROTECTION CHALLENGE" GRAND FINAL ON THURSDAY 9 JULY
The Oceanographic Institute, the Monaco Impact association and the International University of Monaco have organised the first ever international edition of the Monaco Ocean Protection Challenge, which is now open to all students, schools and universities. The Grand Final of this challenge will take place on Thursday, July 9 from 2:30 pm to 5:20 pm in live stream.
Thirteen teams of students from Monaco, France, Italy, Mexico, China and Tunisia took part in the challenge, allowing them to put their professional skills, creativity and commitment at the service of a preserved natural ocean. More than a simple student project, this challenge aims to raise students’ awareness of all the opportunities offered by new forms of economy (circular, collaborative, bio-based, biomimicry, etc.) and the value of a respected environment in a professional context.
Following the health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the organisation of the Grand Final of the challenge was rethought, using a “mixed” format, online: live via the International University of Monaco’s Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2B33w_PHFHhO–oA-lyvXA) as well as in person at the IUM.
The final will be held in the presence of the following jury:
– Robert Calcagno, Director General of the Oceanographic Institute
– Peter Kutemann, Managing Director of Monaco Impact
– Jean-Philippe Muller, Director General of the International University of Monaco
– Leila Eiling, President of the Association of Friends of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco
– Margareth Hepburn, Managing Director of Hepburn Bio Care
– David Sussmann, President of Pure Ocean Foundation
